SHAH ALAM, Dec 11 — A majority of participants in the Selangor Vaccination Programme (Selvax) Booster are senior citizens and individuals in their 40s.

Selcare Clinic general manager said more than 6,000 booster doses have been administered so far, showing that a majority of people wanted the Sinovac vaccine.

“Some of the recipients are willing to cancel their appointments on MySejahtera and came to the Selcare Clinic in Kuala Lumpur just to get the Sinovac vaccine.

"So far, the responses have been very encouraging and we still maintain the vaccination process by appointment only," said Dr R Jeevarajah when contacted.

Dr Jeevarajah hoped the vaccines allocation would be increased to benefit more people in the state.

On December 7, the state government announced that a total of 157,000 booster doses would be given free of charge through the Selvax Booster programme.

Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said individuals aged 18 and above who have completed two doses of vaccine can get it at the nearby Selcare Clinic.

A list of clinics involved can be found on the website selcareclinic.com/our-clinics/ or through the SELangkah mobile app.
