SHAH ALAM, July 23 —A total of 38 bodies of Covid-19 patients consisting of Muslim and non-Muslim were handled by Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) in Klang yesterday.

According to the hospital’s Forensic Department, the burial rites of 12 Muslim bodies were managed by the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) along with the Civil Defence Force (APM).

“A total of 10 bodies were handled and buried at the Selat Klang Muslim Cemetery, while the rest were buried at the Section 21 Muslim Cemetery in Shah Alam.

“The collaboration is important as it is part of the effort to expedite fardhu kifayah (communal obligation) and to ensure a smooth process for handling of Covid-19 patients' bodies at HTAR,” said HTAR on Facebook.

The department also conveyed its condolences to all the victims family members and prayed for them to persevere in facing this test.

“May Allahyarham or Allahyarhamah (the deceased) be placed among the righteous and all their sins be forgiven,” the statement read.
