SHAH ALAM, June 5 — The Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) admitted it erred in stating that Selangor had received about 2.9 million Covid-19 vaccine doses.
According to a report on the CodeBlue website today that quoted a CITF statement, only 615,210 Covid-19 vaccine doses had been given to the state as of June 1.
“The number that was earlier provided to CodeBlue includes both stock in government facilities and partially still in the distributor’s warehouse which is located in Selangor and ready for distribution to the whole country.
“This made Selangor the state with the highest number of vaccines delivered as of June 1st, (615,210 doses), followed by Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya with 578,130 doses and Johor with 370,680 doses respectively.
“The error in providing the data to CodeBlue is regrettable,” said CITF in its statement to CodeBlue today.
On Thursday, State Public Health, Unity, Women Empowerment and Family Committee chairman Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud explained that as of June 1, the Selangor State Health Department (JKNS) has received 615,210 coronavirus vaccine doses: 434,070 (Pfizer-BioNTech), 146,440 (Sinovac), and 34,700 (AstraZeneca).
The statement was intended to refute CodeBlue’s report titled ‘Selangor Received 2.9 Million Covid19 Vaccine Doses: Mosti’, which has sourced its data from the Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry (Mosti).
