SHAH ALAM, April 17 — Only 150 visitors to the Ramadan bazaar are allowed to be in the area at any one time, says state executive councillor on public health Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud

She said the move was to enable social distancing following allegations that bazaars failed to control the standard operating procedures (SOPs) compliance.

“May we always maintain the SOPs so that traders can conduct sales as usual.

"Apart from boosting the local economy, we can also carry out shopping activities as usual," he said.

The Seri Serdang state assemblyman also spent time visiting the Ramadan bazaar in her area with Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) enforcement officers and Pusat Wanita Berdaya supervisor.

Siti Mariah praised MBSJ's action in implementing a card system that limits 150 visitors to the bazaar.

"God willing, if this system is maintained, the Ramadan bazaar operation can continue and at the same time the public will remain in compliance with the SOP," she said.
