SHAH ALAM, April 8 — The Selangor government welcomes the effort by Nestle Malaysia (Nestle) in opening a Plant-Based Food Production Centre involving an investment of almost RM150 million.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said Selangor was fortunate to host a high-tech facility that would produce quality plant-based food products for the local and international market.

"The centre is the first of its kind in Southeast Asia and is a reflection of the investor confidence in the stability and administration of the state government," he said in a statement on Facebook today.

He said the state-of-the-art (high-tech) production centre not only produce quality products for all but is also developed sustainably and environmentally friendly, as almost every element of its packaging could be recycled.

"Congratulations to Nestle for its commitment towards the environment that also complements the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which is the current global guideline," he said.

Yesterday, Amirdudin had accompanied the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, along with Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin and Raja Muda Selangor Tengku Amir Shah to the centre, here.
