SHAH ALAM, Jan 31 — A total of 30 school students from Kota Anggerik constituency receive a contribution of tablets to help facilitate their learning.

Its assemblyman Najwan Halimi said the assistance worth RM20,000 under the Mesra Rakyat programme aims to ease the burden of the low-income parents.

He said the selection criteria of the students are made with the cooperation of schools to ensure only those who are eligible receive the benefits.

“I received many complaints from parents who could not afford to purchase computer or tablet for their children, so I decided to contribute to this need,” he said when contacted.

Najwan said so far three tablets have been distributed to the students and the rest will be given in stages.

Meanwhile, a representative of a recipient, Siti Hajar Haderan, 30, thanked the state assemblyman for the assistance and said the home-based teaching and learning (PdPR) method was very challenging.

“PdPR not only demands high discipline from the students but in parents too as they need to play their role and be patient to ensure their children are not left out especially those who just started their schooling,” she said.
