Selangor FC awaits decision on possible MCO reintroduction

SHAH ALAM, Jan 11 — Selangor has yet to decide on the next course of action ahead of the Malaysian League 2021, following the possible reintroduction of the movement control order (MCO), New Straits Times (NST) reported yesterday.

This follows concerns that the MCO could restrict pre-season plans as the league is scheduled to begin in February.

Football Association of Selangor (FAS) technical director Michael Feichtenbeiner said the Red Giants have already planned seven friendly matches ahead of the new Super League season.

"We have planned most friendlies in the state. We will see what happens as we also hope to hold a camp outside the state," he was quoted by NST.

Yesterday, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob had told the public to stop spreading unverified information on the re-implementation of the MCO.

The rumours had spread on social media following the expected special announcement by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, today, regarding action to be taken by the Federal administration in handling the recent upsurge in Covid-19 cases.
