SHAH ALAM, Dec 17 — Klang continues to record the highest number of Covid-19 infections as the district recorded 297 out of 481 cases reported in Selangor yesterday.

The Selangor State Health Department (JKNS) informed out of the 297 infections recorded in the Klang district, 150 infections were from the Kapar sub-district and 147 were in Klang sub-district, with 240 of the cases detected through screening on workers.

The Petaling district came in second, with 64 cases recorded, namely in the sub-districts of Damansara (43), Petaling (11), Bukit Raja (six) and Sungai Buloh (four).

“Hulu Langat district recorded 62 cases, with 38 of them in the Kajang, Ampang (13), Cheras (eight) and Semenyih (two) sub-districts.

"A total of 23 cases were reported in the Gombak district, namely in the sub-districts of Batu (10), Kuang (five), two each in Hulu Kelang and Rawang, and four imported infections," according to the department on its Facebook.

JKNS also detected infections in other districts with 12 cases recorded in Kuala Langat, Kuala Selangor (nine), Sabak Bernam (eight) and Sepang (two).

As of 12 noon yesterday, a total of 100 patients in the state have recovered making a total of 14,930 cases, while the death toll rose to 35 people.
