SHAH ALAM, Nov 10 — The Petaling district has registered the highest number in new Covid-19 cases yesterday with 51 infections out of the total 138 cases reported in Selangor.

According to the data from the Selangor Covid-19 operations room, 21 cases were recorded in Damansara whereby 12 of the cases were identified through workplace screening, eight from close contact testing and one from screening a symptomatic individual.

“A total of 18 new infections were recorded in Sungai Buloh, which had involved 11 detected from workplace screening and seven via close contact screening.

“In Petaling, four cases were identified from workplace screening and two via close contact testing, while in the Bukit Raya district, three cases were detected from close contact and workplace screenings each,” said the agency.

Meanwhile, Hulu Langat has recorded a total of 42 daily infections yesterday, followed by Klang (29), Sepang (6), Gombak (3), Kuala Langat (3), Hulu Selangor (2), Kuala Selangor (1) and one imported case.

Six districts in Selangor are categorised as red zones which are namely Petaling, Hulu Langat, Klang, Sepang, Gombak and Kuala Langat.

Kuala Selangor is categorised as an orange zone while Hulu Selangor and Sabak Bernam are registered as yellow zones.

Selangor has a total of 1,456 active Covid-19 cases out of the accumulated figure of 6,287. The death toll in the state remains at 27.

A total of 208 recoveries were reported yesterday, with the highest figure recorded in Hulu Langat with 94 recoveries. The total cumulative number of individuals recovered from the infection is 4,804.
