MB condemns act of vandalism on Dr Noor Hisham, national leaders mural

SHAH ALAM, July 20 — Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari strongly condemns those who vandalised the murals of Health director general and national leaders at Taman Cahaya Alam, Section U12 here.

Amirudin via his Twitter social media account urged the authorities to investigate and take stern action against irresponsible parties.

“I strongly condemn the act of vandalism that occurred in Section U12 Shah Alam. I urge the MBSA (Shah Alam City Council) and the police to work together to investigate and ensure that offenders are punished accordingly (Saya mengecam sekeras-kerasnya perbuatan vandalisme yang berlaku di Seksyen U12 Shah Alam. Saya menggesa pihak MBSA (Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam) dan polis untuk bekerjasama menyiasat dan memastikan pesalah dikenakan tindakan sewajarnya),” he tweeted today.

According to the Astro Awani news portal, the giant mural depicting the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah and Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah was sprayed with indecent words.

Also vandalised were the portrait of the Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang.

The mural was painted by Muhammad Suhaimi Ali, 27; Muhamad Firdaus Nordin, 26; and Abdul Hadi Ramli, 27.

On July 10, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong consented to visit the mural accompanied by Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah with their son.

Dr Noor Hisham had also posed with the mural of his portrait as an appreciation of the local artwork effort.
