Selected EPF branches to resume operations tomorrow

KUALA LUMPUR, May 5 — Selected branches of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) will resume some of their services tomorrow (May 6) to facilitate members requiring face-to-face transactions.

Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz said EPF members could make an appointment through www.kwsp.gov.my from today.

Meanwhile, he said EPF had approved more than 3.5 million i-Lestari withdrawal applications totalling RM1.66 billion as of May 3.

“The approved i-Lestari payments have been credited into members’ bank accounts since yesterday and it will continue until May 18,” he said while presenting the fourth report on the implementation of the Prihatin Rakyat Economic Stimulus Package today.

On the reduction of employees’ contribution from 11 per cent to seven per cent, Tengku Zafrul said as, at end-April, the total contribution received by EPF members was estimated to be RM977 million a month.

“It is hoped that this amount can help improve the cash flow of EPF members in need,” he said.
