SHAH ALAM, April 9 — The Selangor economic stimulus package, Selangor Cares Package, complements the Federal government’s RM250 billion Prihatin Rakyat Stimulus Package, which was announced by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on March 27.

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the elements offered by the state would be able to fill in some of the void or needs, which would then support the Federal administration.

“When the Federal government announced the RM600 aid for the frontliners, the state government had, in turn, provided a means to look after the children of those working on the frontline,” he said in an interview aired on TV3’s morning show Malaysia Hari Ini, today.

On April 1, the state government had in the second phase of its stimulus packages, Selangor Cares Package 2.0, announced the RM1.5 million allocation to care for the children of parents involved on the frontline, said to benefit some 2,500 families.

The Selangor administration had allocated a total of RM400 million for the state’s stimulus package.
