SHAH ALAM, April 3 — A global economic crisis is expected to take place after the ‘war’ against the Covid-19 pandemic ends, as the current situation has shown some impact among larger nations, such as China and the US, says Selangor Menteri Besar.

Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the coronavirus pandemic should be a lesson to everyone in bracing the next phase, especially in terms of food security.

“As we can see, the world's largest economies, such as China and the US, are facing a difficult time, including countries that provide manpower resources like Indonesia. The situation requires a whole new dimension in crisis management.

“Future wars would not only be related to trade wars, but it could involve a silent enemy like Covid-19, which has taught us to be more prepared,” he said in an interview on the ‘Cendol Pak Ya’ programme on Online TV IDE, yesterday.

Amirudin said both the Federal and state governments have to develop further in political and administrative maturity, such as positive actions in moving forward especially when facing tougher times.
