KLANG, FEB 6: The Selangor State level Chinese New Year Celebration this time around was more festive when His Royal Highnesses the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin for the first time attended the ceremony organised by PAKATAN at the Kompleks Sukan Pandamaran, last night.
They were welcomed by Dato’ Menteri Besar Selangor, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, State Excos and other dignitaries upon arrival.
During the ceremony, both royals mingled and shook hands with the rakyat who were present.
Meanwhile, the ceremony, attended by more than 10,000 citizens were filled with a variety of shows including Chinese cultural show, lion dance and dragon dance.
Besides serving a wide variety of delicacies, children were also given ang pow.
The ceremony which was jointly organised by the Investment, Small & Medium Industries, Trade and Transport Committee and Invest Selangor, was also attended by its Exco, Dato’ Teng Chang Khim and several State Assemblymen.
